OCUR calculates your vehicle’s CO₂ emissions using standardised data sources like WLTP (Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicle Test Procedure) and NEDC (New European Driving Cycle) for Internal Combustion Engine (ICE), Hybrid, and Electric Vehicles (EVs). For EVs, we factor in your country’s energy mix (e.g., the share of coal, natural gas, renewables) to estimate indirect CO₂ emissions from electricity consumption. For older vehicles or those without standardised data, OCUR offers intuitive tools to guide users in providing accurate details, ensuring precise emission calculations tailored to every vehicle type.

We are using Direct Air Capture (DAC), a cutting-edge technology that removes CO₂ directly from the atmosphere. Large fans draw in air, which passes through specialised filters designed to capture CO₂. Once captured, the CO₂ is permanently stored underground using a process called mineralisation. During mineralisation, CO₂ binds with natural minerals in rock formations, safely and permanently integrating into the earth.

OCUR allows you to review and update your mileage every month to ensure accuracy. While we provide an initial estimate based on the information you provide, you can adjust your mileage at any time through your account. Keeping your mileage accurate helps us better calculate your CO₂ emissions and ensures your subscription reflects your real-world driving.

Payments are securely processed through Stripe, allowing you to use your credit card with confidence. For subscription plans, payments are automatically charged monthly through Stripe unless cancelled. You can easily manage your subscription and payment details in the app’s settings. Each month, OCUR tracks your CO2 removal progress, ensuring a transparent and hassle-free experience.

As an OCUR user, you are joining a community of people who are proud to help neutralise their CO₂ emissions. The rewards are linked to the cars, and the first reward will be a QR code and a keyring, available at the first neutralisation level. The other levels will unlock emblems and rewards to be discovered along the way.

Yes, you can cancel your subscription at any time through the app. Your cancellation will take effect at the end of the current billing cycle, and no further payments will be charged. Any CO₂ removals that were paid prior to cancellation will still be completed according to the scheduled timeline. Please note that partial refunds are not available for mid-cycle cancellations.

OCUR will soon be available worldwide. The app is designed for everyone wishing to make a positive impact on the environment by absorbing their CO₂ emissions.

Once you subscribe, OCUR works with its carbon removal partner to begin the CO₂ removal process. Full removal process may take up to six years due to current technology scaling.

Once you’ve reached the first removal level, you’ll receive a QR code to affix to your car! This QR code can be scanned by anyone and will allow you to show your commitment to neutralising your CO₂ emissions. It directs to a link where we can read the brand and model of your vehicle, as well as the amount of CO₂ you have removed. Obviously, the link will not return any personal information, ensuring your privacy is maintained.
